P5 and 6 had a great day out last Friday when they visited the USA 250 exhibition in Coleraine Town Hall. The exhibition focuses on entertainment links between our area and the USA, especially in the last 100 years when Hollywood movies were the highlight of many people‘s week. We discovered that even Kilrea had a cinema and the first movie shown, in 1945, was about an American GI. We then had time for an art activity where we tried designing our own movie posters and album covers. We then went to Landsdowne Park in Portrush to have our lunch and enjoy some R and R. Thankfully the weather was kind and the rain stayed away until we were on our way home.
