Remembrance Assembly
Today, our school gathered for a Special Remembrance Assembly led by Mrs McCombe. She encouraged us to think about different ways we can help ourselves remember important things. Together, we suggested ideas such as keeping diaries, setting alarms on our phones, and using post-it notes. We wrote on post-it notes to remind themselves of something important for today.
Mrs McCombe then helped us make a special connection — just as we use post-its to remember, we wear poppies to help us remember those who have died in wars for peace and freedom.
Our P7 pupils read thoughtful verses, and Mrs McCombe played The Last Post and Reveille. The children listened to Nimrod and left the hall quietly and respectfully. We were so impressed by their dignified silence and the sense of reflection shown by all.
