Primary five and six have had quite different themes for their recent Shared Education days. Just before Easter P5 were finding out about their local area with a guided tour of the town with Mrs Pearl Hutchinson and Mrs Maud Steele. They started at the Diamond and did a quick circuit of the town, taking in the Bank Square, the Community Quilt and the Fairy Thorn Tree before finishing at St Patrick’s Parish Church. They then had a talk from Sinead about fire safety and what it is like to be a fire officer.
P6 completed their salmon project with a visit to the Salmon Fisheries in Bushmills. They saw the next stages of the salmon life cycle and walked along the River Bush. The water was very low, due to our dry spring, so, unfortunately, there were no adult salmon to be seen.
