🏆P1 to P6 Prize Giving Assembly

20th Jun 2025

P1–P6 Prize Giving Celebration

Today we enjoyed a fabulous P1–P6 Prize Giving Assembly, and it was wonderful to welcome so many parents, family members, and friends into school to celebrate with us.

Our P1–P4 pupils kicked things off with a fun and lively rendition of Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport—a fitting choice as they’ve been learning all about hot and cold lands this term.

Mrs McCombe then shared some of the many successes we’ve celebrated throughout the year. She was delighted to reveal our newly revamped Ethos, Vision and Values, along with our inspiring new school motto:
“From strong roots, great things grow!”

A special congratulations goes to Ivor in P1, whose suggestion became our new motto—he was thrilled to receive a voucher for the Jet Centre as his prize!

Our talented P7 violin group followed with a beautiful musical ensemble, and P5/6 wowed everyone with a stunning performance of Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

Mrs McCombe went on to share another success story: our Participatory Budget Project. Each class submitted a creative proposal on how funding could be used to support nature in our school. After a whole-school vote, P5/6’s project received the most support, and we’ve worked hard together to upgrade our Quadrangle Area. Well done to all involved!

We were also proud to announce that KPS has achieved the Take 5 Level 3 Accreditation—a fantastic recognition of our school’s continued commitment to wellbeing.

Rev. McCormick, our Chair of Governors, kindly presented the prizes to our P1–P6 pupils and congratulated everyone on their hard work and achievements this year.

A very special moment came as we invited Mrs Young, our much-loved cleaner, to the front to wish her a happy retirement. Diandra’s mum presented her with a beautiful bouquet of flowers on behalf of the whole school—thank you, Mrs Young, for all you’ve done!

We brought our celebrations to a joyful close with the whole school singing It’s Better When You’re Dancing—a perfect way to end such a happy occasion.

A massive thank you to our wonderful staff for making today such a success, and to all the boys and girls for their fantastic efforts this year. We are so proud of you all!
