This week P5&6 have begun to explore Ancient Egypt. They began at The Great Pyramid at Giza and went on to investigate mummification. A willing volunteer acted as our visual aid as we worked through the steps, putting organs in canopic jars and extracting the brain through the nose. He was also very helpful when it came to wrapping him. (I’m not so sure the Pharoahs sat up when needed.) Luckily for him we didn’t have enough time, or salt, to let them dry out for 40 days, nor any linen to create the 20 layers of bandages, but we did enjoy seeing our mummy come to life and rip off his bandages!
