P1&2 have been having lots of fun out and about exploring our grounds. We found lots of acorns below our big oak tree and we collected lots and lots. We thought it would be fun to try to grow some trees and watch them grow as we grow up in school. We tested the acorns to see if they were good or bad in water, good acorns sank and bad ones floated. We wrapped the good acorns up in damp paper towels and put them in the fridge to pretend that it is winter. Hopefully after a couple of weeks we will take them out and they will grow into little trees. P7 enjoyed helping the P2’s to collect some more acorns so that we will have lots to plant after our pretend winter.
We enjoyed listening to the story of Chicken Licken to finish off our acorn fun.
