A few weeks ago P1&2 received a little brown box in the post. The boys and girls had lots of suggestions about what was inside but they were all amazed when they opened the box to find two pots with caterpillars inside. They watched then as they grew bigger and bigger and then made cocoons or chrysalis on the lid of the pot. We have kept looking at them closely and to our surprise we found two butterflies yesterday after assembly and another one after break time. One cocoon wiggled and wiggled today but we didn’t see the butterfly emerge. We now have five butterflies in our net hopefully there will be some more soon. We mixed some sugar and water for them to eat and some apples.
