Assembly, Stars of the Week and Friday Notices

24th Apr 2026

🌿 Assembly with Miss Steele

Today, Miss Steele led our school assembly. We began with a peaceful, mindful moment, listening carefully to birdsong and taking time to be still.

We then reflected on the Artemis II mission, World Earth Day, and the importance of gardens. Together, we explored the many purposes of gardens: planting flowers, providing homes for insects, supporting bees through pollination, growing fruit and vegetables, and creating spaces where people can play and relax.

Miss Steele reminded us of the story of Creation and the Garden of Eden, which was filled with plants of every kind imaginable. Gardens truly are a gift for all our senses – delighting our eyes, noses, ears, mouths and hands.

A garden can offer a place to pause, unwind and connect with nature. It encourages us to notice the beauty around us and to learn more about the natural world. Gardens also give us opportunities to give to others. When we plant seeds, we may not always see them grow, but others will benefit from them in the future.

Miss Steele encouraged everyone to get outside, enjoy the improving weather and remember:

🌱 From strong roots, great things grow!
