Assembly, Stars of the Week and Friday Notices 27.02.26
Today, Mrs McCombe led our whole-school Assembly, focusing on our value for this half term: Respect.
We explored what respect means and why it is so important in our school community. Respect means treating others the way you would like to be treated — showing kindness, consideration and understanding in our words and actions.
Mrs McCombe reminded us that in sport, team captains shake hands before a match as a sign of mutual respect and good sportsmanship. This simple gesture shows fairness, teamwork and appreciation for one another, whether you win or lose.
School Value - Respect
During the assembly, pupils shared thoughtful ideas about how we can demonstrate respect in different areas of our lives — in the playground, in the classroom, online and at home. From listening carefully when others are speaking, to using kind words, taking turns and showing good digital manners, it was wonderful to hear so many positive suggestions.
Throughout this term, we will be actively recognising and celebrating respectful behaviour. When members of staff notice acts of respect, pupils will be awarded special stickers as a way of acknowledging and encouraging these positive choices.
We look forward to seeing our school value of Respect shining through in all that we do this half term.
