Assembly, Stars of the Week and Friday Notices
Assembly
Today we welcomed Lynda from CEF, who led our assembly with a focus on spring and Easter.
She shared with the children what Jesus Christ wore during his time on Earth. Although Jesus is a King, he did not dress or live as people might expect a king to. When he was born, he was placed in a stable in a simple manger and wrapped in cloths rather than a special blanket.
Lynda explained that when Jesus washed his disciples’ feet, he wore a towel around himself—again, not what we would expect from a king. Later, when he was arrested, soldiers dressed him in a purple robe and placed a crown of thorns on his head to mock him.
She reminded us of the Easter story: after Jesus died on the cross, he rose again three days later. Christians believe that he now rules in heaven and will one day return.
