P3/4 had a wonderful time venturing out into the snow this week. Our Secret Garden was transformed into a wintery wonderland, filled with sparkling snow, icy patterns and crisp leaves—perfect for exploring!
During our outdoor adventure, pupils were encouraged to think carefully about their senses: How did the cold air make them feel? What colours and shapes could they see? What sounds did the snow make beneath their feet? What textures could they touch? What wintery scents could they notice?
Back inside, the children used their sensory observations to gather a rich collection of descriptive words. These ideas became the inspiration for creating their very own winter poems.
The results were fantastic—and who knows, we may even have a future Seamus Heaney in our midst!
